Members

We welcome you! Whether you drive, ride, breed, own or just enjoy a road horse or road pony, there’s a place for you in ARHPA. From scholarships for junior exhibitors, to recognition for high-performing horses and ponies, to awards for members, and education for all, we have programs and opportunities to help you expand your enjoyment of participating with a road horse or road pony. Purpose. The objectives and purpose of the American Road Horse and Pony Association are to:

  • Promote the training and exhibiting of the Road Horse and to promote other activities and events of any nature to create enthusiasm, use, pleasure, and interest in Road Horses;
  • Encourage and educate all persons interested in Road Horses;
  • Promote higher standards of showmanship and sportsmanship through better communication with those interested in Road Horses; and
  • Cooperate with and assist horse show managers and organizations who promote horse shows in the selection and spacing of classes of Road Horses and to encourage exhibitors and owners to show their horses, and to do all things necessary to further the development and quality of Road Horses.

Meetings. ARHPA holds its annual membership meeting during the Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show, held at Freedom Hall, each August, in Louisville, Ky. A notice of the meeting will be sent to all members, and members are encouraged to attend. Minutes are posted here.

2021 Annual Meeting will be held Saturday, August 21, from 10 a.m. – noon, at Kentucky Expo Center’s South Wing, B107-B108. All members are encouraged to attend.

Scholarships. Our young members are encouraged to apply for one of two $1,000 scholarships awarded per year. And, eligibility includes students who are family members of existing ARHPA members. Check it out.
